Women on missions.

A day (or more like 5 minutes in total, time is precious in fashion!) inside the studio, where the magic is created at TETTMANN.DOUST

Being a perfectionist as usual (it annoys me sometimes that I am one) with the ironing of garments

Elke and her dog Noah (No-No). No-No usually sleeps in his bed all day and I always catch him sneakily looking at me through the corner of his eye. Weirdest dog. :P

Loneliness > people

I don't hold trust in anything that cannot be applied to a mathematical equation.

It's too late at night and early in the morning and Johnnie Walker is being the gentleman he is, kissing me good night.

Loop Bar

A couple weeks ago, my friend Neriman and I had a bit of a bar hopping adventure in the city, primarily because she had entered photos that were exhibited at Loop Bar at Meyers Place, in Melbourne. Submission of the photos were open to all, and the best 20 - 30 photos were selected to be exhibited. They were on a 'loop' on 3 projector screens throughout the bar. All photos displayed artistic qualities and complimented the 'vibe' of the bar itself.

Spring Fashion Runway Backstage, 22nd Aug 2013 @ Malvern Town Hall.

"The City of Stonnington’s Spring Fashion Runway celebrated the area’s talented designers and renowned fashion houses, while unveiling the latest catwalk trends"

On the 22nd of August, I volunteered to work backstage at the Spring Fashion Runway 2013 at Malvern Town Hall, showcasing the up-coming key colours, styles and trends for the season, dedicated to three distinct design streams: Urban, Spring Racing and CoutureThe garments were all impressive to say the least, showing fine designer construction and quality. All of which were from reputable and renowned Australian designers; labels and names at the show featured: Trelise Cooper, Jack London, Alannah Hill, Wayne Cooper, Roy Christou of Honor Among Thieves and Nicole Williams from NicolangĂ«la, to list a few.

The model I was assigned to dress was Paris Roberts, whom was absolutely lovely and a pleasure to work with, not to mention also a lot of fun! (he he)

Gregory Ladner (Designer) and I
I had a lengthy chat with the great Gregory Ladner, he is a wealth of knowledge and experience, not to mention a font of wisdom; having been in the fashion industry for over 25 years. He started as a couturier, and is now known for his accessories, that can be bought in department stores such as Myer and David Jones.

Julian Assange - Wikileaks

Julian Assange: Wikileaks

On Friday the 16th of August, I attended the #AskAssange Live Google Hangout with Julian Assange by Deakin University. I was truly grateful to be a part of this experience. We are in the midst of an interesting era; we are at the "cross- section of technology and democracy." Those of us who we lucky enough to secure free registration to this remarkable event, were very much a part of the interaction with Julian Assange. I must admit, it did tickle my fancy knowing he could see us seated there in the crowd, via real-time camera communication.

(watch the whole interaction here, recorded and posted via youtube)

Despite the controversy and sexual conspiracies surrounding Assange- labeling him as sexist, and a chauvinist, I see the validity he brings forth to the political world. I admire his strength, and the historical mark he has made. He is a man who has had his rights as well as freedom of speech silenced, only because he has leaked to the public the truth. We all know that 'trust' is low within the political system, and I do believe that Assange is on the forefront of change. Against our current leaders within the Australian political system, I believe Assange is one of the few,  if not the only one whom I have most faith within.
Immersed and intrigued by the Hangout we had with Assange, I was also jotting down quotes in my diary, which I not only identified with, but also thought were worded cleverly:
- "It's about what you can do with what you know."
- "Democratize democracy."
- "Ignorance fosters greed."

i wanna be the girl you wake up next to.

is this what determines sanity these days?

a mix of things.

KONY 2012, LOVE & VICTORIAN

The start of the night, Dandenong Station. My friend Damian and I, on our trip to the city to see the 'Kony 2012' protest on April 20th. Damian is studying Journalism at University and chose this topic to report on. The turn-out sure was interesting.

A few people that were interviewed, said they still found validity in the protest and believed in spreading awareness, despite the criticism in the media.

A couple hours after signs were posted, they were then torn down.

A lovely gentleman we met known by the name of LOOPIE. I was drawn to him, as I was fascinated by what he was making- rock structures for his pet yabbies. We sat down with him and had a good chat. LOOPIE is a free- spirited man who wants to see humanity re-connect with the concept of love. He said the best gift we gave him was stopping by to talk. Bless his soul.

Alex. I had to talk to him, he has amazing style. I was loving the victorian-esque print on his shirt, and the way it's modernized. He is the editor & photographer of faint magazine! check it out, his work is extraordinary! [faint magazine facebook]
